Black currants more than ever.

On Friday and Saturday we were picking black currants. The bushes were really full of berries. We have now in a freezer about 20 litres for the winter, and the bushes have still more, maybe for tomorrow.

  1. Oh my! Brings so many memories. In our mökki in Kazakhstan we had all three currents growing – red, white and black. My granny used to add black current leaves to the tea, and boy the smell was so good and it tasted heavenly too. When I moved to Finland and came to visit my friend’s mökki in Kouvula and saw there those black current bushes, I was very surprised. The same berry thousand kilometres from home felt like a good symbol. Your photos look lovely and it looks like you should be all set up for winter! 🙂
