Kevät pihassamme 6. Spring in our yard 6.

The last day of April. Spring is pushing Winter away.  The weather is warmer day by day..

Huhtikuun viimeinen  päivä. Kevät työntää talvea pois. Ilma on lämpimämpi päivä päivältä.

Pihasiilimme. Our Hedgehogs.

Ensimmäinen siili on herännyt. Se käveli ympäri pihaa etsien ruokaa. Oli jo liian pimeää kuvaamiseen. Se näytti aivan Mustanaamalta.

The first hedgehog is awake. I saw it two days  ago walking around and looking for food,but is was so dark that I could´t take photos. I suppose that this one was the Blackface.

Mustanaama syömässä kissanruokaa viime kesänä.

Kesäisin pihassamme on asunut kolme siiliä.Olemme  tehneet siileille puisen talviasunnon lehtikasan alle kirsikkapuun viereen.

We  have had three hedgehogs in our garden every summer. We have made for them a wooden winterhouse under the leaves by the cherrytree.

Tänä aamuna. This Morning.

Yesterday we were waiting for a yellow flower carpet to our yard.  It started  to snow after midnight and in the morning we had a white snowcarpet on your yard.

Eilen odotimme keltaista kukkamattoa pihaamme. Puolenyön jälkeen alkoi sataa lunta ja aamulla valkoinen lumimatto peitt1 pihan.

Two weeks have passed since the first Spring update. We still have night frosts , today at daytime was  + 6 ° C, +43 ° F.
The first Gagea  Minimum is blooming. I could not find an english name for this flower. When the weather gets warmer , the yard is covered with a yellow carpet for some days.

Kaksi viikkoa on kulunut ensimmäisestä kevätpäivityksestä. Yöt ovat edelleen pakkaslukemissa, päivälämpötila tänään + 6 °C, +43 °F.

Tänään oli ensimmäinen käenrieska kukassa. Ilmojen lämmetessä pihassa on keltainen matto hetkisen.

Joka päivä on ihme. Every Day is a Miracle.

Kevät pihassamme 4. Spring in our yard 4.

Sää on ollut sateista ja yöt kylmiä. Tänä aamuna satoi vähän lunta. Pihassa kasvit elävät säästä huolimatta kevättä.

The weather has been rainy and cold. This morning was snowing. In our yard plants, in spite of the weather, are growing.

Yellow wood anemones have buds.

Blackcurrant bushes are growing leaves.

Viikko on kulunut ensimmäisestä kevätpäivityksestä ja mikään ei ole muuttunut. Kovat yöpakkkaset, -5 ja -10 välillä. ovat estäneet kevään edistymisen. Maa on yhä jäässä.

Olemme jatkaneet lintujen ruokintaa pihassamme. Ruokavieraina ovat pikkuvarpuset, sinitiaiset ja järripeipot.

One week is gone from the first post and nothing has changed. The spring is not proceeding because of very cold nights, between -5 and -10 degrees Celsius, 23-14 degrees Fahrenheit. The soil is still frozen.

We have continued feeding birds and we have tree sparrows, blue tits and  bramblings visiting us.

 

 

 

Keväällä tulvii. Flooding at Spring.

 

Juuri herännyt. He just woke up.

Eilen näin tämän juuri heränneen sammakon, rupikonnan, lämmittelemässä auringossa.

Se ei ollut prinssi.

Yesterday I saw this frog, European toad, warming up in a sunny place.

He was not a prince.

 

 

Kevät pihassamme 1. Spring in our yard 1.

Keväällä kaikki tapahtuu nopeasti. Muutaman aurinkoisen päivän jälkeen pihassa näkyy kasvunalkua ja jopa kukkia.Tänään näimme ensimmäisen sitruunaperhosen.

In spring here everything happens very fast. After some sunny days in the yard plants start to grow and even bloom . Today we saw the first butterfly, a brimstone.

We have under an old oak ” protected” area. All the spring flowers grow there. The first ones are always these common hepaticas.

Daffodiles made this in two days.

On the southern side of the house crocuses started to bloom today.

Tulips also put their heads up to see the sun.

Kurjet saapuvat. Cranes arriving to Finland.

 

Mielenosoitus. This is a Protest.

Kissa ei saanut tarpeeksi huomiota, joten kiipesi istumaan keskelle keittiön pöytää. Keino tehosi.

Our cat didn´t get enough company from humans, so he climbed up to sit in the middle of the kitchen table. That worked, he got company.

Pyrstötiainen pakenemassa. Long- tailed tit escaping.

Aegithalos caudatus.

Meillä harvinainen pyrstötiainen pysähtyi lintulaudallemme ja yritimme kuvata sitä ikkunan läpi. Kovin vikkelä lintu onnistuttiin saamaan kuvaan juuri pakohetkellä.

This long-tailed tit seldom visits our feeding place and we tried to take photos behind the window.We got him, between jumps, just before escaping again the camera.

Järvi on vielä jäässä. The lake is still frozen.

 

Joki huhtikuussa. A River in April.

 

 

Joutsenlauantai. Swan Saturday.

Tänään pelloilla oli tuhansia joutsenia. Laskin yhdellä pellolla yli 200 joutsenta. Linnut söivät, hoilottivat, tanssivat ja nukkuivat.

Today thousands of swans were on fields. I counted in one field about 200 swans. The birds were eating, singing, dancing and sleeping.
