You are right, snow on the ice is even more slippery.

Roads like that are scary. I think they’re even worse than when they’re covered with snow because of the blowing.

I had never seen a hummingbird prior to last year, either – the 2 hurricanes that passed by apparently blew one in. When Mom and Pop lived in Panama, they had 5 varieties in their yard, but that was long before I was born.
Mom says down there, they had feeders with suet for meat-eating birds and fruit for fruit-eaters, as well as the seed and nectar feeders.

We have three feeding places for birds now, because it has been cold and one for hares. I have never seen a hummingbird.

I assume you have at least one bird feeder… We now have 2 – one for seed and the other for hummingbirds.
